Chaos in fractional order circuits

In this paper we are focused on the method of simulation of fractional order chaotic circuits. The circuits are described by three differential equations with non-integer orders of derivatives, i.e. arbitrary fractional number. By suitable examples we demonstrate an approach in which the method for deriving the model of such kind of fractional order chaotic circuits and method for their simulations are presented. All details are reported to the so called fractional order Chua’s oscillator. Results of simulations in MATLAB and PSPICE are presented. Streszczenie. A Circuital Model of Electric Arc in a Circuit Breaker

The paper presents a circuital model of arc in a circuit breaker. The model is intended to be used in simulations of the electric circuits transients. It was implemented in the ATP simulation program. The article presents also a few simulation examples of simple DC and AC circuit containing described arc model. An Influence of Electrode Geometry on Particle Forces in AC Dielectrophoresis

In this paper we calculate electric field distribution and forces acting on single dielectric particle. Dipole approximation method is adopted. Finite element method is used in order to evaluate electromagnetic field in fluid suspension. Different shapes of interdigitated electrodes are investigated in order to optimize dielectrophoretic force acting on particle. At the end computational results are presented. Streszczenie. Analysis of degaussing process of ferromagnetic objects

Results of the analytical and numerical analysis of the degaussing process phenomena of ferromagnetic objects were presented in this paper. The screening effectiveness of the electromagnetic field of magnetic screens in most cases depends on thickness, conductivity , magnetic permeability  of the screen and angular frequency  of degaussing currents. The magnetic field inside thin-layer ferromagnetic object was presented in this paper. Numerical calculations for the quasi-steady state for chosen frequency band were carried out in the Opera 3D. Analysis of quality of radio electronic devices in multistage production systems

The paper presents the results of mathematical modeling of the process leading to the imperfections in the mustistage production line of radio-electronic devices. The matrix approach to this problem is proposed. Analysis of spectral diagnostic parameters based on mathematical model of electrical equipment’s responses due to impact excitation

Actual state of massive construction parts of power electrical equipment can be determined with usage of diagnostic systems that are based on impact excitation method. In this paper, the oscillations in such construction parts are examined. Mathematical model of the oscillations was elaborated in the form of linear stochastic process with multi-resonance behaviour. Analysis of the effectiveness of parallel algorithms on the example of computation of transient processes in complex electronic circuits

The problem of organization of calculation procedure of parallel computations of transient processes in electronic circuits by diakoptics is shown. External variables are computed with a delay in relation to internal variables. Evaluation of performance of parallel computations is implemented. It is provided to work each processor with separate groups of subcircuits on multiprocessors or local area network. Automatyczna segmentacja sygnałów mowy w oparciu o metodę siatek o zmiennych parametrach

Artykuł przedstawia nową metodę segmentacji sygnału mowy opracowaną przez autora i przetestowaną na zbiorze 50-ciu nagrań pochodzących od osób różnej płci i w różnym wieku. Average Time-varying Models of Active Power Filters

The paper presents models of the active power filter based on the of voltage source converter structure. For the single-phase circuit two models are presented - transformer model with varying turns-ratio and time-varying capacitance model. The models are results of current and voltage averaging. Comparison between substructuring and overlapping domain decomposition methods for diffuse optical tomography problems

The forward problem in DOT can be modelled in an frequency domain as a diffusion equation with Robin boundary conditions. In case of multilayered geometries the forward problem can be treated as a set of coupled equations. In this paper we present the solution for diffuse light propagation in a four-layer spherical model using Boundary Element Method. Composite language for representing reusable and traceable software assets

Software development projects produce many artifacts at various levels of abstraction. These artifacts, combined together, form specific “software cases" which originate in requirements and lead to the resulting code. In an ideal world we would want to have these software cases automatically generated from the initial requirements. We would also want to reuse legacy software cases by comparing them with the current partial requirements specifications. In order to make this “ideal world" closer we have developed the Software Case Language which allows for formulating internally transformable and searchable software cases. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) can be now recognized as a powerful tool for investigating the mechanisms of electrochemical corrosion, for measuring electrical properties of materials, and for exploring the properties of porous electrodes. In this paper we are aimed on applications of EIS for interrogating the corrosion resistance of metals and alloys, with particular reference to nickel and its alloys surface layers deposited on aluminum and its alloys. Contraction and elimination methods for finding multiple DC solutions of bipolar circuits

The paper is focused on the analysis of diode-transistor circuits having multiple DC solutions and brings two methods enabling us to find the solutions, without any piecewise-linear approximations. The first method is a modification of an earlier developed method, whereas the other is new and based on an original idea. Both the methods are implemented in an algorithm that guarantees finding all the DC solutions. Numerical experiments show that the proposed approach is efficient, the analysis is improved and the computation process is speeded up. Streszczenie. Contrast enhancement of color images by nonlinear techniques

In this paper a problem of contrast sharpening of color images is addressed.The concept of Color lum sharpener (CLUM) is proposed for enhancement of contrast of old church paintings images. This color sharpener is based on local contrast enhancing techniques. The simple measure of contrast for color images is considered. Some versions of CLUM are proposed based on different ordering schemes in RGB as well as in HSV color space. Controllable Thermoelastic Actuator with Mechanical Friction Clutches for Accurate Setting of Position

Accurate setting of position based on thermoelastic effect produced by induction heating is suggested. Its controllability is reached by supplementary friction clutches that hold the dilatation element in the required position. Diagnostic feature selection for efficient recognition of different faults of rotor bars in the induction machine

Praca przedstawia dwuetapową skuteczną metodę selekcji cech diagnostycznych dla potrzeb lokalizacji uszkodzonych prętów w maszynie indukcyjnej. Badania diagnostyczne prętów maszyny odbywają się na podstawie zarejestrowanych przebiegów czasowych prądu i napięcia stojana oraz strumienia wałowego rozproszenia. Wielkości te poddane są transformacji dyskretnej Fouriera (FFT) a uzyskane spektrum częstotliwościowe poddane jest analizie ukierunkowanej na wyłowienie cech diagnostycznych (harmonicznych) najbardziej różnicujących różne klasy uszkodzeń prętów maszyny. Disturbances of magnetic field of plane caused by eddy currents

Results of the numerical analysis of the magnetic disturbances of a plane caused by eddy currents induced in conducting elements of the plane were presented in this paper. Magnetic disturbances of the object’s model were carried out in Opera 3D. Computer simulation of the magnetic disturbances allows to check Leliak model of these disturbances. Computer analysis confirmed correctness of this model. Computer simulation allows also to check the algorithms applied in the digital magnetic compensator of the magnetic disturbances. Streszczenie. Electro-cost models of sources and loads for local object power control

This paper proposes a concept of electric power generation and consumption control in local electrotechnical objects with regard to cost factors. “Electro-cost" models of sources and loads including both technical dynamic equations and economic theory equations have been developed. The proposed approach is based on computing of a measure of auto covariance of the abstract state space energy - covariance analysis. Project of an entry level EEG amplifier dedicated for P300 evoked potentials measurements will be discussed. Amplifier main application is wireless communication between brain and a PC (BCI) which would allow locked-state people to communicate. The device should be mobile, energy efficient and inexpensive. Estimation of higher voltage and current harmonics generated by the nonlinear load

The results of simulation tests concerning the cooperation of the nonlinear load formed by 6 - pulse rectifier with the power system are presented. In numerical experiments we have taken data from the real systems, including the cable and overhead lines. They have been represented by the distributed parameter system. The values of higher voltage and current harmonics and total harmonic distortion (THD) in 15 kV and 110 kV line, for each considered case have been evaluated by the experiments performed by using the simulation program MicroCap-8. Estimation of Temperature Distribution Inside Tissues in External RF Hyperthermia

A numerical method is developed for the estimation of temperature distributions inside tissues heated by external RF hyperthermia with external circular coil. The computational method relies on a solution of electromagnetic field problem in sinusoidal steady state. The heat transfer problem is treated in three dimensions with axis symmetry model. Then the bioheat diffusion equation under a steady-state condition is solved to determine the temperature distributions inside tumour and surrounding tissues. The heat removal due to the blood circulation is also taken into account. Evaluation of usability of Cassie and hybrid Cassie-Mayr models to simulate processes in AC arc circuits

Based on experimental studies of welding transporters systems, supplying the electric arc, were determinate the courses of voltage and current. Using of Amsnick and Zückler method were calculated the parameters of Cassie and hybrid Cassie-Mayr models. The macro models of corresponding arcs were created and then used for a simulation runs in a MATLAB-Simulink program. A large discrepancy of dynamic characteristics of real arc in comparison with the Cassie model was found. A satisfactory compliance was obtained for the characteristics of a hybrid Cassie-Mayr model. Fast neural networks learning techniques for signal compression

The experimental results prove faster convergence and better final results for energy maximization technique. Incomplete column-row factorization method for general sparse matrices

Incomplete column-row factorization method is proposed. This method does not require permutations of rows and columns in submatrices. Calculable stability of the method is provided by search of pivots in submatrices to minimize divergence on the Frobenius norm between the transformed and regenerate submatrices. Significance of entries of the factor matrices is specified by comparison of norms of rows and columns of transformed and subtracted submatrices. Linear dependence on time of state variable in electrical circuits with state feedbacks

It is shown that by suitable choice of the gain matrices of state-feedbacks it is possible to obtain the closed-loop system matrices with nilpotency indices equal to two and their state variables are linear functions of time. Modelling of Transients in Transformer Winding

This paper deals with the transient phenomena in the winding of the single-phase unloaded transformer. Two approaches are presented. One approach is based on the model created as a network with distributed parameters. It enables to obtain the surge voltage and the current distribution along the winding at the beginning of the step response and to determine the maximum value of the voltage. The second method is based on the winding model as a cascade connection of two-ports; it is solved in the time domain. The transfer function of this chain is also evaluated and the dynamic process can be analyzed according to position of poles in the complex plane. Modelowanie sieci Petriego w języku VHDL

Sieć Petriego dobrze nadaje się do modelowania współbieżnych układów cyfrowych, w szczególności do układów sterowania. W celu szybkiego prototypowania takich układów przygotowywane są odpowiadające im modele w językach opisu sprzętu. Opracowywane modele wykorzystywane są zarówno do celów symulacji, jak i syntezy. Implementacja odbywa się z wykorzystaniem programowalnych matryc bramkowych FPGA. Do aktualnie stosowanych języków HDL zalicza się VHDL i Verilog. Noise Detection for Latent Component Classification in Ensemble Method

We present a novel concept of the random noise detection applied in model integration process. The ensemble method is based on decomposition of the multivariate variable containing model results. The decomposition originating from Blind Signal Separation gives us the latent components with destructive or constructive impact on the prediction quality. The identification and elimination of the noisy signals should improve final prediction result. The pointwise completeness and pointwise degeneracy of standard and positive linear discrete-time and continuous-time systems with state-feedbacks are addressed. It is shown that: 1) the pointwise completeness and pointwise degeneracy of continuous-time standard systems are invariant under the state and output feedbacks, 2) for standard and positive discrete-time and positive continuous-time systems necessary and sufficient conditions are established for the existence of gain matrices of state-feedbacks such that the closed-loop systems are pointwise complete, 3) the electrical circuits of R, C, e type are pointwise complete at every t=tf if and only if their state matrices A are diagonal matrices. The detection of defects in aerospace structures with non-destructive techniques is an important requirement for quality checks not only during production phase but mainly during in-service maintenance operations. Visual inspection allows only the analysis of surface characteristics of materials. This paper presents a novel fast algorithm for computation of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) of real-valued series. All internal computations of the derived algorithm are performed on real-valued data. Utilization of NILTs in Simulation of Nonlinear Systems Described by Volterra Series

The techniques of numerical inverse Laplace transforms (NILTs) are applied to get the time-domain responses of some classes of nonlinear systems. It is enabled by expanding the system response into a Volterra series formulated in multidimensional Laplace domains. For a given system the Volterra kernel transforms are found, and the response Laplace transforms inverted numerically. By this way the use of an association of variables technique is avoided to save CPU time. The NILTs based on FFT/IFFT and q-d algorithms are modified for this purpose. Streszczenie. In addition to minimizing the objection function of the difference between the potential due to the applied current and the measured potential.
