  The selection of phase composition of the AlSi matrix composite for the possibility of shaping work surfaces of pistons The article presents the results of technological research on the possibilities of using the slurry method for producing alloy matrix composites reinforced with ceramic particles AlSi (SiC and SiC + Cg) and shaping the piston in the die casting process. The purpose of the proposed study was to develop a composite phase composition on the assumption that the main criterion for the selection of components will be able to shape the working surface of the piston in machining processes and to assess the tribological properties of the composite. Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tool life was determined based on the time of operation after which clashes parameter reaches VB = 0.3 mm. On the basis of SEM observation of the surface of the blade when working with composite materials identified nature of tool wear. In the case of cooperation PCD composite reinforced with SiC particles consumption was of wipe, while in the case of composite reinforced cooperation with the mixture of particles of SiC + Cg on the blade formed growths. The testing system-on-disc confirmed the beneficial effects of reinforcement SiC particles on the stability coefficient of friction. In an attempt to abrasive wear was recorded for reduced wear of composite samples AlSi7Mg2Sr003/SiC as compared with a hybrid AlSi7Mg2Sr003/SiC + Cg.
